Introducing AI-Powered Presentation Tools

Creating a compelling presentation doesn’t have to be a time-consuming task. Instead of spending hours perfecting a slide deck only to find it unused or overly complex, you can now leverage artificial intelligence to streamline the process. AI tools act as your virtual coworker, helping you create impressive presentations without burning out. This allows you to focus on the content and delivery rather than the design.

One such tool that caught my attention is Prezi AI. After a quick search for an AI-powered presentation maker, I decided to try this platform. It has a friendly, Australian-sounding name, which I found appealing. The pricing structure is also user-friendly, with a free basic version and several tiers ranging from $19 to $39 per month. I opted for the mid-range plan at $29 per month, which includes a 14-day free trial. The lowest tier didn’t offer infographic capabilities, so the mid-tier was a better fit for my needs.

What Is Prezi AI?

Prezi AI promises to create “your best presentation in minutes.” Let’s take a closer look at how it works. When I signed up for the Premium version, I set a reminder for the end of the free trial. The setup process involved entering information about the presentation so that Prezi AI could suggest content and design ideas. You can also upload a PDF, which can be helpful for the AI to reference, or skip this step and choose a template instead.

For this example, I used some initial brainstorming notes for a creative campaign I wanted to present to an agency client. I described what I was aiming to achieve in a text box, asking Prezi AI to help me combine my notes with those of a strategist to tell a story and take the audience on a journey. I preferred a minimalist, elegant design and asked if I needed to upload the document.

Creating and Refining Your AI Slide Deck

I quickly realized that Prezi AI isn’t a traditional chat tool. Instead, it generated a mock design without answering my question directly. So I saved all my notes into a PDF and re-created the prompt. It’s important to note that Prezi AI only uses text content, so avoid uploading graphics or charts.

After adding specific instructions—such as using imagery only from the Zayed National Museum website and incorporating all the text from the PDF—it still struggled with following simple directives. For instance, it included images from unrelated sources like Steve Jobs and the movie The Bucket List, as well as an image from The Incredibles. These were clearly off-brand for a UAE campaign.

I ended up selecting the slide I liked the most and manually editing it by adding critical copy that was missing and removing inappropriate images. While the AI-generated slides required some tweaks, they saved me a significant amount of time compared to starting from scratch.

How Long Does AI Take to Create a Presentation?

Overall, it took me about 30 minutes to refine the presentation to my satisfaction. While it wasn’t perfect, it was far more efficient than trying to build an initial deck on my own. I would have spent much longer agonizing over the design, especially for a professional presentation.

One slide I didn’t need to change at all was particularly impressive. I also appreciated how the slides transitioned interactively, moving like a map rather than just swiping to the right. You can check out the full presentation here.

As you continue using AI tools, they will start learning your style preferences, making the editing process easier each time. However, always review the content and images generated to ensure they align with your goals.
